Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) has a long tradition of excellence in molecular biology and medicine. There are 250 highly-qualified researchers in the laboratories of the Faculties of Science and Medicine on the Gosselies industrial estate.

ULB researchers have received numerous prestigious prizes (two Nobel and nine Francqui) and have published many articles in international scientific journals.

In the Gosselies Biopark, in which DNAVision is situated, ULB researchers in the Institut de Biologie et de Médecine Moléculaire (IBMM) (biologists, chemists, physicians, information technologists, agronomists, veterinary, surgeons or medical doctors) work together in the areas of virology, immunology, applied genetics, parasitology, bioinformatics, etc.

Members of large European and worldwide research networks, they work with prestigious universities, research centres and institutes in Europe, the United States, Canada, etc.

The Institut de Pathologie et de Génétique et Institut de Recherche Scientifique en Pathologie et Génétique is one of eight official human genetics centres and has a staff of around 170, almost a third of whom are medical doctors, biologists and other university graduates.

Technowal SA, a wholly owned subsidiary of the S.R.I.W. (the Walloon Regional Investment Corporation), with a capital of 24 millions €, is one of the instruments of the New Technology Branch of the S.R.I.W. Group. Its aim is to assist the growth of existing companies with innovative and exportable products, located in the Walloon region or in Brussels.

Sambrinvest SA was established in 1985 with a view to participating in the reconstruction and the renovation of the Charleroi region. Its vocation is to provide venture capital for SME that are in start up situation, are in a development stage or where ownership is being transferred. Its investment criteria are that the SME involved are able to provide added value and create employment.

Shareholders of DNAVision AgriFood s.a.

 

DNAVision s.a.is the largest shareholder of DNAVision AgriFood. DNAVision investment in DNAVision AgriFood aimed to structurate its continuous growth and to develop the potential of genetic tests in Agri-Food, veterinarian and microbiological sectors.

SpinVenture was born from a collaboration between MEUSINVEST and the Université de Liège. Spinventure promotes the creation of Spin-off companies commercializing or industrializing research results from Université de Liège.

Synapsis Associates implements the investment strategy of C+ Investments, a fund that was founded in 2003 by the Engels family in association with private partners.
